Acero high schools are committed to both academic preparation and graduate success. We do so through a dynamic high school environment deeply entrenched in fostering a college-going culture.

 

Enrollment and Transfers for the 2020-21 School Year

Acero Schools participates in GoCPS administered by Chicago Public Schools (CPS) for high school enrollment. You may learn more about GoCPS by visiting go.cps.edu for additional details regarding this process.

 

Though the GoCPS application process for the 2020-21 school year has ended, you may still be able to transfer to an Acero high school during the summer based on seat availability.

You may also visit your preferred high school during our public office hours. All Acero Schools campus locations are open to the public Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m with social distancing and sanitization guidelines in practice.

How do I apply for my freshman year?

Students apply for high school through the GoCPS process. The details of this process can be found on the GoCPS website. This process is now closed for the upcoming school year, but transfers and enrollment may still be initiated.

How do I apply for my sophomore, junior or senior year?

Families interested in grades 10-12 may apply by reaching out to their preferred high school or by contacting the enrollment staff listed at the top of this page.

 

What are the requirements to attend an Acero high school?

Applicants must reside in the City of Chicago. If a student is found to be admitted using a false address, this could result in disenrollment. Otherwise, there are no admission requirements and students are seated through a student selection and lottery process administered by GoCPS.

When will I find out if I was seated at an Acero high school?

GoCPS Round 1 results were shared on March 27, 2020, and the deadline to accept your Round 1 offer was April 22. Round 2 results were released on June 15, 2020 with the deadline to accept being June 29. The Round 2 waitlist process is now open as of July 6.

 

Can I schedule a tour to visit a high school I’m interested in?

Not at this moment. We strongly encourage you to explore the school you are interested in via their website, social media channels, and YouTube videos. Please find our respective high school links below.
