Last Two Weeks to Apply to High School
Time is quickly winding down for families to submit their high school applications, but there are still lots of ways to get the most out of the final weeks of this application season. Here are some important reminders to help you complete the process.
Use Your Available Program Options
Families can select and rank up to 20 Choice Programs and, if they are eligible, up to six Selective Enrollment Programs. Be sure to apply to as many programs as you would accept an offer from, as this will maximize your chances of receiving an offer from a high school program you selected.
Rank Programs in Your True Order of Preference
It is extremely important that you rank the programs you are applying to in your true order of preference. This means that the program you want to attend most should be ranked first and the one you want to attend least should be ranked last.
There’s Still Time to Make Changes
Applications can be modified up until the Dec. 14 deadline. You may want to add/delete a program on your application, or you may want to change the ranking of the programs to which you’ve applied. If you applied using the online application site, you can simply log into your account and make those changes. If you applied via paper application, you will need to request an Application Modification Form from the Office of Access and Enrollment. Contact them at 773-553-2060 or [email protected].
Live Webinars for Families
In order to provide additional support, the Office of Access and Enrollment will begin hosting live webinar sessions twice a week for the remainder of the application period in English and Spanish that are open to parents and students. Below is the schedule; participants will need to register in advance with the link provided below:
