Acero Schools

Food Resources

Although schools are closed, free meal service is still available for all Acero scholars and any child 18 years or younger on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

If you are in need of food assistance in addition to the meal services provided by Acero Schools, please visit the Greater Chicago Food Depository website for information about accessing other food programs: GCFD Website

We understand and recognize that our schools provide meals to many Acero students during the school day. Despite the suspension of on-site learning, we will continue making available free breakfast and lunches to all scholars and any child 18 years or younger, regardless of their enrollment in an Acero campus.

Acero Meal Distribution Sites

Meals are distributed on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at all Acero Schools.

All families will be able to pick up a “Grab & Go Meal Pack” (meals for breakfast & lunch). Three (3) days’ worth of meal packs will be provided for pickup all at once.

Staff will provide the meals outside of the school building or at a designated entrance. Please note, parents/guardians may pick up meals on behalf of scholars. Families may visit any Acero campus, regardless of enrollment in an Acero school, to receive meals. Families must visit only one location per serving day.

If you are unable to reach an Acero school pickup location, you may visit a nearby CPS school to pick up meals.

CPS Meal Distribution Sites

CPS Meal sites will continue to provide food for any family or individual in need from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday. You may visit the CPS Meal Site website for updates. You can find your nearest CPS Meal Site on their CPS Grab-and-Go Meal Site Map

CPS Meal Delivery

CPS and charter school students are eligible for meal delivery if families are not able to pick up meals from their home school. An order can be placed with the CPS Command Center via telephone at 773-553-5437 from Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., via email at [email protected], or by completing the following form: CPS Meal Delivery Form.

Each delivery provides three breakfast meals and three lunch meals per child. Deliveries will arrive within an average of four business days of the order being placed. A new delivery order can be made every three days.
