Rich Valerga has worked to transform technological and educational landscapes in service of scholars and communities across multiple education sectors. As the chief operating officer for Acero Schools of Chicago, Valerga leads a dynamic and mission-driven team that was first focused on network turn-around, restructuring and digital transformation and now advances new frontiers of district-wide operational excellence in information technology, data privacy, real estate management, compliance and food services. Rich draws upon his post-Hurricane Katrina experience to rebuild New Orleans schools and recent opportunities to serve learners first entirely remotely and later in a hybrid environment to enable optimal student engagement with minimal disruption and maximum learning outcomes.
